Confirmation of booking

Visa
It is always advisable to check the requirement of visa for the country you are intending to visit.
If you already have a visa, it is a good practice to recheck the validity and whether it allows multiple entries.
Flight Time/Date of travel: Please re-check on the ticket the scheduled departure time and date of your travel.
Economy class passengers are generally expected to report for check-in 3-4 hours prior to scheduled departure time.
Particular care with respect to date of travel should be taken if the flight timing is soon after mid-night as the effective date of travel changes at mid-night.
Meals
Do you need a special meal ? You may specify your requirement of Vegetarian or Non-Vegetarian meal or any of the 23 special meals that Air India offers.
While Air India does carry surplus meals to meet last minute requirement, it is always advisable to inform your meal requirement to the airline in advance.

Baggage Entitlement
Checked Baggage entitlement depends on your class of travel and also your destination.
While for US bound passengers, the entitlement is on a piece concept, for passengers travelling to any other destination in the world, the entitlement is based on weight.

Reconfirmation
If you are travelling Economy Class, reconfirmation of seat is essential 72 hours prior to departure of flight.
This is a must for all passengers, except those flying on the INDIA/UK/INDIA, INDIA/USA/INDIA, INDIA/EUROPE/INDIA and INDIA/JAPAN/ INDIA routes.

Airport Terminal
There are certain airports where more than one terminal exist.
It is advisable to check in advance the terminal from which your flight will depart.
Likewise, for landing so that relatives and friends wishing to receive you can await your arrival at the right terminal.
Bassinet
The size of the bassinet available on Boeing 747-400 aircraft is 71 cms x 36 cms x 19 cms (L x B x H ).
If you are carrying an infant who is under two years of age and can fit in the bassinet, you may ask for bassinet.

Wheelchair
If a passenger needs a wheelchair, the request must be put up in advance either through the travel agent or an Air India office.
A passenger is required to either submit supporting medical papers while booking a wheelchair or pay the prescribed fee.
